Rotary Shoebox Appeal 2019

19 October 2019
The time has come, once again, to launch the Rotary Shoebox campaign in Boston. Rotary Club of Boston St Botolph organises the appeal annually with fantastic support from the community.
This year they have set a target of 400+ boxes, (with a value of approximately £4,800) which are to be filled by the people of Boston and transported to poor and needy families in Eastern Europe by Rotarians.

John Wright, one of the organisers said ‘More importantly, the annual Shoebox Appeal reveals that people in Boston do care and want to spread a little happiness among children for whom a shoebox of toys at Christmas may be their first present. Poor families and the elderly in care homes also receive boxes.

The Stump will be acting as a distribution and collection centre for the town, beginning  on Monday, October 21 and finishing on Monday, November 4.’
At present, the Rotary Club has several Boston primary schools participating along with the Methodist Churches and our congregations. St Botolph’s Church will be acting as a distribution and collection point for all those who wish to contribute to this most worthy cause.
